Hey there!

I'm Carson and online you can typically find me under the handle Pooks, or something similar.

I'm a second year Computer Engineering student studying at the University of Waterloo.

Previously, I have gotten a chance to work at

• Dropbase | YC W20, where I worked on the backend, the infrastructure and the integration of Snowflake | January 2021 - April 2021

• Sheertex, where I worked on optimizing the production workflow and creating internal tools for automation and productivity | April 2020 - August 2020

On my free time, I help maintain the DMOJ, Canada's largest online judge and open-source programming platform, and enjoy learning about different algorithms.

• started learning Japanese for fun (kanji is hard)
• studied French for 11 years
• can solve a variety of Rubik's Cube variations including 2x2 (~25 seconds), 3x3, 5x5 and the Megaminx (hopefully I get some of the other times down sometime in the future)
• occasionally follow the Dota 2 scene
